Chiefs, Texans gamers booed throughout second of unity; Houston stays in locker room for nationwide anthem

Chiefs and Texans gamers and coaches lined up and stood collectively in the midst of the sector at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday evening for a second of unity forward of the NFL season-opener.

The gesture occurred moments after the singing of the nationwide anthem, for which Houston gamers and staff personnel remained within the locker room in protest of racial injustice in the US. Kansas Metropolis gamers and staff personnel have been on the sector for the nationwide anthem. Alex Okafor was the one participant who took a knee.

Some Chiefs followers could possibly be heard booing in the course of the second of unity. Attendance at Arrowhead was restricted to 22 % of capability by COVID-19 rules in Missouri.
